Create Your Dream Space

By Ariel Colhoun Passionate about increasing the sphere of influence for women & driving positive change.

The world is full of distractions – our electronics, our work, our diverse relationships, our overbooked schedules, and even our egos. We are tethered to our electronic devices and social dynamics have changed. People want immediate access, instantaneous responses, and patience is on a short leash. There are so many distractions it can be overwhelming.

From a macro-perspective, the ‘noise’ in our lives today is unprecedented, not to mention that much of social media is actually ‘dumbing’ us down. Learning to manage through it all is an unquestionable necessity. We all need to find free time – time to focus, have clarity, and find peace in our hearts. The only way to achieve all of these things and more is to set your intentions to reduce all the noise. Create the time and space you need to allow your intuition to flow and your mind to receive. Everyone needs to reconnect with finding inner peace, tranquillity, and true relaxation.

It is essential to begin by making your home a place of serenity, a place to unwind at the end of the day to escape all the noise of ‘external’ life – and by external life, I am referring to life outside the four walls of the place where you rest your soul. Your home should be your sanctuary and a place that nourishes your soul, not detract from it.

Create at least one space free of clutter and a quiet setting where your mind can expand, explore and dream, free from any potential disturbances. Create your ‘dream’ space. Add a little bit of nature – plants, wishing stones, feathers, and anything that creates that nirvana-type space for ultimate relaxation and clarity.
