This morning I saw on the news a good news story that literally brought me to tears - the Ashley HomeStore’s Hope to Dream program.
This month, the North American Ashley HomeStore’s Hope to Dream program is celebrating its 9th anniversary. Since its inception in 2010, the program has recently reached a milestone of 100,000 beds donated to children in need across the U.S. and Canada!
What Is Hope To Dream?
With every mattress sold at Ashley HomeStore, they donate a portion of the sales to their Hope to Dream program - a program that provides beds to children ranging in age from 3-16 years old. Each month, children are selected to receive a bed set through their program. In addition, they also partner with the Memphis Tigers Football Club, the Nashville Sounds Baseball Team, The Louisville Bats Baseball Team, The Ole Miss Rebels Athletic Teams, The Indianapolis Colts Football Team, the St. Louis Blues Hockey Team, and the Springfield Cardinals Baseball Team. Together, they host Hope to Dream events where the kids come to the arena/stadium for food, fun and games, and then are surprised with their very own bed at the end of the event!!!
Watching today's news story and seeing the sheer happiness and delight (not too mention the many happy tears) on each of the children's faces was overwhelming. Think about it ... for those that have one, a mattress is something we all take for granted and assume everyone has, but unfortunately that is not the case even as we quickly approaching the year 2020.
Thanks to founder Jim Spencer and his vision to help families in need, the program has since evolved to become an international charity for Ashley Global Retail, the parent company of Ashley HomeStore. If you are in the market for a new mattress, be sure to make a purchase with a purpose, and choose a company like Ashley HomeStore where kindness matters.
