DAY 4 of '24 DAYS Of GIVING' - Gifts That Give Back: The Giving Keys

By Ariel Colhoun Passionate about increasing the sphere of influence for women & driving positive change.

Embrace Your Word & Pay It Forward

As we are well underway into our next holiday season, we are always thinking of ways to make a purchase with a purpose and we feel that The Giving Keys located in Los Angeles, California is the perfect way to not only give a gift but to also give back by helping end homelessness through employment.

Caitlin Crosby, CEO of The Giving Keys

Meet Caitlin Crosby

Sharing our personal stories can be powerful and Caitlin Crosby has used her story for the power of good. Growing up in Hollywood with both parents in the entertainment industry, Caitlin was an inspiring musician and actress, and had a chance encounter with a homeless couple that changed her life - and many others - forever. The couple inspired Caitlin to think long-term when it came to helping the couple out rather than a short-term handout. Through her personal experience on the journey to pay it forward, Caitlin created The Giving Keys with literally keys - keys that open doors to possibility, keys that can help create and inspire, keys that can unlock the future. And all purchases are gifts that give back with a mission to help end homelessness through employment.

Strong Core Values

Each key is stamped with an inspirational word like the company's 3 core values: DREAM, CREATE or INSPIRE. When purchasing a key, you are encouraged to embrace your word, then pay it forward by giving your product to a person who needs the message and every product you purchase supports job creation for individuals transitioning out of homelessness. Your purchase provides stability to those who need it most. The company has made a huge impact in the local community and is extremely proud of their mission stating, "We provide full-time jobs at the living wage in the city of Los Angeles to people transitioning out of homelessness. With each job, we offer benefits, paid time-off for housing, education and case management appointments, and a supportive environment that cares for the whole person" - and we couldn't agree more.
