Pimples can be extremely annoying and can appear in the most unexpected places, like the tip of the nose or right smack in the middle of the forehead. Unfortunately, even though we are far from our teenage years, these buggers still make their appearance from time to time. Our diet, pollution, hygiene, clogged pores and hormones are just some of the factors why pimples appear.

There are many creams and face washes out there that advertise a cleaner acne-free skin. However, a quick solution would be as simple as a clove of garlic!

Just wash your face, cut a clove of garlic and rub the cut side onto the pimple before bed. Do not wash your face. By the morning, it should be much better, if not, completely gone.

When garlic is chopped it releases a compound called allicin which gives garlic its antibacterial properties. By rubbing it on the pimple it kills the bacteria and in turn settles the inflammation (pimple).

It may not be the most pleasant aroma, but we all have to suffer for beauty from time to time.

Note: Remember, as with any beauty solution, make sure you do a patch test on your skin first to avoid allergic or other reactions!

CLEAN BEAUTY TIP

If you are worried about getting the garlic odour on your hands, try using The Garlic Peeler. It removes skins from garlic cloves quickly and easily, and keeps your hands odour free!
