"The body knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind." - Caroline Myss
It can be extremely frustrating when your body can't keep up with your mind. When your body tells you to slow down, but your mind is fully awake. It is during these times that we tend to criticize ourselves because we are unable to complete tasks and meet demands. I have found myself in this situation many times as a result of surgery, injury, aging, and the list goes on. Regardless of the reasons why, the frustration is real. You can get caught up in the negative spiral. Thoughts become more negative, and your body seems to respond to this negativity with more limiting patterns. Your back hurts more, you feel increased fatigue, and so much more.
Sometimes, altering focus and paying attention to what you are doing well can shift your energy in a more positive direction. You start noticing the little things that you accomplish, the positives and the simple act of switching perspective can make all the difference in the world. Love this quote by Caroline Myss, I think it so perfectly sums up what I am trying to say "The body knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind."
