The social media trap
Living in the era of rapid technological evolution and the advancement of personal electronic devices, it is so easy to also fall into the social media trap of losing all sense of time and digressing into a somewhat isolated state.
All these social media apps and devices we have at our fingertips have created an easy ‘out’ or escape for many of us. They are often overused to numb our brains and end up hampering our own individual creativity. Today we no longer have to travel to view the world if we don’t want to. We can wear 3D goggles to artificially explore. We can play games in solitude without others against a computer or against complete strangers that we do not have to build true personal relationships with. We can send text messages and chats rather than having meaningful conversations. And all the while we get caught up in a superficial purpose and let all life’s true meaning and purpose slowly slip away.
If you choose to not work on something and decide to procrastinate for good reasons, do something proactive with your time that will be truly beneficial to you. In place of mindless or unmeaningful activities, get some exercise, visit a friend, volunteer, take a class, get organized, or whatever you feel has more meaning to you.
Clean mind. Clean beauty.
