The ability to interpret body language is another significant asset you can add to your tool belt. Reading body language allows for the body to do all the talking. Words do not need to be spoken and instead, you use your intuitive sense to interpret meaning for those that you observe.
Your body projects how you are feeling by taking into account everything from your posture, your gestures, the way you hold or use your hands, direct or indirect eye contact, to even the way you smile, and more. It can tell you what others may be thinking or feeling. But remember, it also works both ways and it can tell others about you as well! The facial expressions or gestures you make with your body are an extension of your emotions. Body language can help you detect a plethora of emotions including levels of honesty, credibility, confidence, comfort, anxiety, nervousness, self-esteem, respect, engagement, and so on. The list is long, but depending on the purpose that you are using it for, interpreting body language can be invaluable.
Pay attention to what other people have to say and take cues from their conversations and their gestures or body language. Digest it all and combine it with your intuitive interpretations. By combining these tactics, you will be able to determine the strength of your relationships with your family, friends, colleagues, and even medical professionals. Distinguishing between who is willing to support you on your personal journey and who is not will save valuable time for everyone all around.
