We love the new concept, The Timeless Project created by Nethmie Hetti. The Timeless Project is a beautiful view of the lives of 10 women in their 70s and 80s, and understanding their perspectives on aging and beauty. Hetti, a 25-year old (and generations younger than the women in the spotlight), works in advertising and thinks it's time to question our ideals on age and beauty. According to her website, "It's time we embrace aging. We believe that growing old doesn't mean growing in silence. After all, everyone deserves to have their voice heard, no matter their age. #TimelessWomen is a platform that shares the stories and challenges of growing old as a woman."

We love the notion of sparking insightful conversations through storytelling. Everyone has a story to tell and when we are able to encapsulate someone's story in an effective soundbite, it can really hit home.

Meet 72 year old Molly Peacock

Molly Peacock, we absolutely love your sense of style! Love The Clean Beauty Forum Team xx

If you take a moment to watch Molly's clips, she addresses the big question:

"Why do women stop putting effort into themselves after a certain age? Because they feel invisible."

We're pretty sure her message resonates with many women not just in their 70s and 80s, but those younger than 70 as well. After all, all of us try to live our best lives and give all that we have, and after a lifetime of contributing our share and we retire, why do so many feel irrelevant, and as Molly puts it, "invisible"?

Molly recounts an occasion where she was at Toronto's St. Lawrence Market where she was waiting to patiently to make a purchase and the young woman behind the counter overlooked Molly and served someone else instead. It wasn't the first time she's been passed over and we're sure it won't be the last, but it was at that point that Molly realized, "Wow, I've gone behind a curtain." Further adding, "I'm thinking, Do I exist here? ... It's a peculiar thing, to be a vital part of society and yet feel society is rushing past you."

It is conversations like these that allow younger generations to gain perspective and shift their mindset on aging. It's easy for younger individuals to make assumptions based on dated demographic trends. In the more recent years with globalized economies, we are seeing significant advancement in health care, nutrition, medicine, technological change, emerging career opportunities for women of all ages, and ultimately new patterns of social experience. Nowadays being 70 is the new 50, and being 80 is the new 60 - in addition, anything goes.

Beauty is a tradition handed down from generation to generation and we agree with The Timeless Project when they say, "Growing old doesn't mean growing in silence".

Be sure to visit The Timeless Project and watch the videos of all the 10 featured women, who are in their 70s and 80s, celebrating the beauty of women, age, and changing perspectives. Their stories are refreshing and will definitely leave you inspired!
