What Do You Live For?

By Ariel Colhoun Passionate about increasing the sphere of influence for women & driving positive change.

The search for identity is the source of struggle for so many people at various stages throughout our lives. From the moment we are born, to the day that we die, we are exposed to an infinite number of variables, life lessons, challenges and more, and they can all change pace in an instant. Throughout the various stages of our lives, our desires change, morph, evolve, and then change some more. Nothing is static. But we are very fortunate, as the human spirit is resilient. It is remarkably strong, highly robust and able to change on a dime by simply drawing upon our root energy, our will. We are blessed with the power of choice, and in the end, we can either choose our own heaven on earth, or we can choose or own inferno.

What makes you happy? What do you live for? What do you wish for? At the end of every day what makes you feel good inside or what would make you feel good inside? Do you feel you have a strong calling? Time to stop thinking of what everybody else will think of you. Spend time finding out who you really are and identify what activities and themes are best aligned to you. When you are drawn to any wish, hobby, or job, you are drawn to it as a natural inclination. The simple fact that you want to pursue it will increase your odds for success significantly because you are pursuing what you want to do. When you pour your heart into something you long for, the magic will begin to unfold.

If this life is just but one of many past, present, and future, the best thing we can do is make this particular life the best it can be – full of purpose and contribution, hope and faith, and full of gratitude.
