Why Do We Dream?

Quite often it is when we close our eyes, fall asleep and dream that we see the most. Why are our minds capable of having such elaborate experiences when we are dreaming (some of which we cannot even replicate) but not while we are awake? What exactly is the reason that when we wake up the magic appears to be gone? And why do our most vivid of dreams seem to quickly evaporate from our thoughts when we are awake? The realm of dreaming holds so many questions and so many unknowns.

Maybe there is a whole other dimension in our universe that is outside of the concept of time, space and matter. Maybe when we sleep we are able to dream and connect outside of all time, space, and matter too. Maybe that is why we dream to escape all the confines. Going to sleep allows our physical bodies to rest and heal. Dreaming requires no physical exertion while we sleep. Our soul is then permitted to escape temporarily and reconnect with the past, present, and future simultaneously, while continually having a direct connection with the brain. Perhaps dreaming allows us to reconnect with relationships we’ve experienced previously. Conceivably, dreaming also allows the brain to exercise its full capabilities, keeping the billions of neurons within strong, healthy and active.

I believe our life here on earth is bound by time, but when we are able to ‘leave’ through dreaming, our time is eternal. Time within a dream either passes at a completely different rate than the time when we are awake or loses all importance. When I dream I never feel the confines of time. Time, in my dreams, is infinite and concurrently irrelevant. Escaping the laws of nature, time, space and matter while dreaming allows us to visualize abstract thoughts and perhaps to re-evaluate our original individual purpose or blueprints. Dreaming encourages us to envision our thoughts through another point of reference – one without the restricted perspective of time in a linear format.

The answers you are searching for may come to you in a dream. Let your intuitive mind tune in. Dreaming incorporates the past, present, and future of all your thoughts and consciousness. Your thoughts are eternal and your dreams are filled with all that has been and can be. Your dreams provide you with opportunity to view things from a different viewpoint and be both free and unbound to human logic. Dreaming removes your self-imposed limits and boundaries and ongoing rational thoughts that occur when you are awake.

Dreaming is a time when our minds are not distracted and we are open to receive. So many innovators have said their ideas of creativity and invention came to them in a dream. I also believe many people can receive the same message within a dream, but it is only the ones who act upon these messages that are able to bring their dreams to fruition. It is naïve to think that only a select few are capable. We are all capable. We just need to put the effort in to make it happen. If you remain silent and do not take action on your wishes or ideas, your fate will change and someone else will go ahead with the same wishes and ideas and will complete them. The universe puts ideas out to all the world and it is up to us, as individuals, to choose whether or not to act upon them.
